CAR sets new hybrid speed world record in Infiniti M35h

Infiniti M35h Hybrid (2011) long-term test review CAR Magazine has set a new Guinness World Record for an acceleration run in a hybrid car. Associate editor Tim Pollard drove an Infiniti M35h hybrid to record a 13.9sec time over the standing quarter mile - as quick as a Lamborghini Countach would've been in the 1980s. We’ve been expecting Land Rover to give the Freelander 2 a facelift for 2013 – even though its only two years since the last one – to keep it fresh and able to stand alongside its trendy younger sibling, the Range Rover Evoque. What Land Rover has actually done with this facelift for the Freelander is blur the lines even more between Land Rover and Range Rover, with a push upmarket for the Freelander 2.

Renault Captur Compact SUV production version teased

Renault has started the tease for their Clio Crossover – likely the Renault Captur – ahead of a debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The booming market for compact crossovers to blat round our congested urban landscape sees car maker scrabbling to offer up a product that can take the fight to cars like the Nissan Juke, and Renault’s offering in the market will arrive at the Geneva Motor Show in March – the Renault Captur. Before you get too excited, the production version of the Renault Captur appears to have little in common with the Captur Concept we saw at Geneva in 2011 – except for the name – and looks likely to be nothing more than a high-riding Clio 4 with added butchness.
